Daytona Beach Remodel

Originally used as a vacation home, this 1950s beachside house was 1700 square feet with 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, a flat roof and terrazzo floors.  Our clients wanted to remodel the entire house and add some living space before relocating here.  We built a new addition on the rear of the house that added a sunroom, a storage room and enlarged the master suite for a total of 420 square feet of additional living space.  The existing flat roof system was replaced with a HIP roof system with 30-year architectural shingles.  New plumbing waste and supply lines were added, the electrical wiring and panel were upgraded to existing building code and a new 15.5 seer HVAC system was installed. The front porch was extended outward, we added a concrete patio out back with a sidewalk leading to the front yard, replaced the driveway and added a walkway to the front entry.

The original terrazzo floor in the common areas was polished and restored. In the master suite, sun room and storage room we installed Del Conca Barton Creek wood-look glazed porcelain tile in Natural.

In the master bath, we enlarged the tiny 1/2 bathroom and added a walk-in shower with a custom glass enclosure.  The shower wall tile is Alliance White Sand with Ice Glass brick mosaic as an accent and Sea Glass sliced mosaic in Sea Foam on the shower floor.  The guest bath was updated by removing the original wall tiles, finishing and painting the walls, and a new tub with surround and new lighting were added.

For the kitchen, we removed the small counter to open the space a bit and installed new custom cabinetry with shaker style doors painted white with clear finish interiors and a beautiful Cielo De Marfil granite countertop in ivory.  The refrigerator and range locations were swapped so that the kitchen has a better flow for food preparation and cooking.
